A not-so-gentle reminder of the need for skepticism when engaging online, this self-produced media campaign was initially believed by many to be an official Twitter initiative.
Announced via press release, it included traditional ads, a website, and related social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram).
The idea of using a fake ad campaign to trick people into believing a message about false representation is clever in and of itself.
The tone and branding in Twitter’s signature blue were pretty convincing...
All in all, it was a pretty impressive campaign...
